Our Services are mainly provided from our offices in Italy. I WROTE doesn’t use cookies, but our domain provider Wix.com does. Therefore we may share non-personal information publicly and with various third parties like publishers or advertisers via providers. For example, we may share information with advertisers or publicly to show trends about the general use of our Services.

We will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy without your explicit consent; in other cases, please note that your continued use of the Services after any change means that you agree with, and consent to be bound by, the revised Privacy Policy. Welcome to the I WROTE platform, which is owned and operated by I WROTE. (“I WROTE” “we” or “us”). These terms of service (which includes our Code of Conduct and our Privacy Policy) (“Terms of Service”) are a contract between you and I WROTE. By using iwrote.com (the “Site”) to post various content to the I WROTE community, or to access and view I WROTE content or other user content (together with the Site, the “Services”), you’re agreeing to these Terms of Service. Things You Should and Shouldn’t Do

 

Whoever uses I WROTE, we expect to behave responsibly and help keep this a nice place. Please review the I WROTE Code of Conduct (which is part of these Terms of Service), which is designed to ensure that everyone understands what the I WROTE site is all about and the values we treasure, to create a safe, fun and caring environment for written words lovers. Without restricting what’s in the Code of Conduct, don’t do any of these things on the Services:

  • Don’t try and damage or disrupt I WROTE. Don’t try to interfere with the proper workings of the Services. Don’t bypass any measures we’ve put in place to secure the Services.

I WROTE doesn’t have an account service to offer to its users.

At I WROTE, we publish letters and pages of diaries written by those who would like to see them published on the Site. It is a safe and comfortable space for everyone to discover.

In order to create an inclusive and respectful space, we want our users to know what type of content they will discover as well as content they can or cannot send or see posted.

  • It’s important to respect and protect feelings, property, and personal information.

  • You shouldn’t send anything you might regret in the future or that your peers, family, or mentors might not want to see online.

  • You should read our Content Guidelines, Code of Conduct, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Copyright rules and Disclaimer, so you have all the information you need to enjoy I WROTE.

Sharing Personal Information

Behaviour that puts a user at personal risk, or revealing personal identifying information about someone else, such as sharing an image without consent, their name, address, email address, phone number or private messages is not allowed. Before you share anything about yourself please remember never share anything you don’t want to. Don’t ever let anyone push you into sharing something you don’t want to.

It’s also important to think twice before sharing someone else’s content. Don’t ever share something that you’re not sure the person who made it wants shared, especially if people seeing it might hurt or humiliate them. It doesn’t matter what the content is (good or bad) or what you think they would want – make sure they’ve told you it’s okay before you share it.

I WROTE gives the chance to tag content via social media, according to our Content Guidelines. Appropriately tagged stories will allow the correct audience to discover your writing.

Copyright Infringement

Please don't send content that you haven't crafted yourself unless you have received explicit consent which you will have to write in the email message to send your content.

Positive Language

​

Users have the right to determine their level of engagement, as long as they aren’t abusing, harassing, or discriminating against an individual.

Community Values

​

I WROTE is a global community for our users to enjoy. It’s important to respect the values of the community, but remember that you have a right and a responsibility to help uphold those values too.

Users cannot demand or require payment for content or services.

Mature Rating

Marking your story mature does not mean that it can contain prohibited content. Stories that contain prohibited content will be removed regardless of their rating.

Mature stories are intended for an audience that is 17 and up. A story may be rated mature if it contains any of the following:

  • Explicit sex scenes

  • Self-harm themes or scenes (including suicide and eating disorders)

  • Graphic depictions of violence; including but not limited to: sexual, verbal, emotional and physical abuse.

 

Talking about Others

​

Due to the almost certainly non-fictional nature of letters or of the pages of a diary, the possibility of real names being used is a fact. We are unable to remove or change this, as well as any additional identifying information, such as the city you or others reside or work/go to school. Therefore it is your responsibility if you reveal personal identifying information about other people without having their own permission. The email that you send to us with the content you would like us to show on I WROTE implies that you have read and agreed with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Code of Conduct, Content Guidelines, Copyright and Disclaimers.
